Women Working in Restaurants

Women make absolutely delicious food. That is why an increasing number of female chefs are found working in famous restaurants. As seen on TV, chefs and cooks have special uniforms. But unlike on TV, it is rarely seen what type of boots do food creators use at their workplaces.

Restaurant kitchens contain a large assortment of materials, ingredients and utensils used for cooking purposes. One of these primary materials is oil. Oil is a basic component used to cook almost every dish. Since oil is a primary ingredient in a large number of foods, it is also one of the most easily spilled liquids found in a kitchen.

The spilling of slippery substances in kitchens does not happen purposely. Due to a large number of meals waiting to be cooked, time is very crucial both for diners and chefs. That is why a little spill is absolutely normal in a kitchen setting. However, oil is not the only slippery liquid that can be found a kitchen floor.

Pasta water, soup residues, pastes, peels from vegetables and fruits can also be found on a kitchen floor. Although the quantity of such substances may be minute, it is required by kitchen standards for culinary workers to wear adequate footwear to prevent any mishap such as slipping.

Non-slip work boots do not prevent slipping injuries to head and limbs only. Kitchens contain burners and stoves which are incredibly hot. This is for cooking food faster. That is why, slipping in a kitchen may result in a burn related injury as well. That is where      non-slip work boots come into play.

Non-Slip Work Boots for Women

Work boots used in restaurant kitchens are made of heat-resistant plastic which has a water and oil proof surface. Any hot oil or water-based food liquid spilling on such boots prevents restaurant workers from getting foot burns or heat injuries.

Non-slip work boots for women also contain anti-slipping threading on the underside of the soles. That is why when a slippery liquid on the floor comes in contact with such boots, the person walking does not slip. This prevents workplace injuries greatly.

Non-slip boots for restaurants are also used when working in the freezer section of the restaurant. This section contains all the meat products such as steaks, lobsters, chicken, beef and more. Working at lower temperatures can be detrimental to foot health. Thus, wearing such work boots prevent any cold burns or hazards related to low temperatures.

How Are Restaurant Work Boots Worn?

Restaurant work boots are similar to rain boots but have lower length. They are generally just above the ankles. They are made from heat resistant materials that are also waterproof and contain thick sole padding for floor grip.

A restaurant work boot can easily be worn by slipping one foot into the opening hole. Once the toes are against the tip of the boot, the boot’s leg can be secured with a strap or buckle. Most restaurant work boots generally have good fitting.

Work boots used in culinary workplaces are also lighter as compared to other work boots. That is why, they are not strenuous for ankles, feet and generally walking purposes. Though they still provide the protection that all work boots provide against workplace hazards.

Restaurant work boots can also be carried separately with regular boots. A kitchen worker can then change into non-slip work boots in the restaurant’s changing room later. They are relatively light to carry as well.

Summary

In conclusion, work boots used in restaurants are different. They are not heavy and tight but still protect against slipping and spilling of hot liquids while preventing fire related injuries. They have thick threading under the soles for strong floor grip. They work great as non-slip work boots for women working in the culinary industry.
